WEEKENDER'S LONG JOHNS*

News can be a funny business.
Some days after the main accused in the Russian rape case John Fernandes was missing in action; 'on the run' as the media believed or 'idling at home' as John would have the world believe, the Gomantak Times scooped up this gem.
The Sunday edition of the GT, the stunted-in-stature but big in circulation tabloid 'Weekender' carried an informative interview of the same John Fernandes, which was more like an entertainment primer to the good life and times of the rape accused.
GT in the past has rather gallantly allowed the casino lobby (remember the grand front page edit quoting Swami Vivekanand while justifying casinos), mining lobby (Cidade charades) to state their piece of mind quite liberally on its pages.
Was John's informative interview a logical extension of this policy? Dunno really. But the piece was pretty informative though and quite on the mark.
John says he likes newspapers. He's been reading quite a few of them these days.
And his stated motto is 'Luck favours the brave'. Bang on again, considering the circumstances.
